Vowel Variations Program

Expanding Horizons

The Vowel Variations Program moves away from short and long vowels and takes your child’s learning further, introducing more complex and less common vowel sounds and letter patterns in seven short levels of learning.

Building on their prior knowledge, your child will encounter new challenges as they learn variations in vowel sounds like ‘oo’ as in ‘too’, ‘ow’ as in ‘now’, ‘oo’ as in ‘look’, ‘oy’ as in ‘toy’, and more.

New visual codes are introduced in this program while other familiar ones remain. Additionally, some visual codes used in previous programs have been removed from this program to enhance reading independence.

Program Highlights:

  • Video Tutorials:
Engaging video tutorials introduce key learning content.

  • Parent Guide Videos:
Comprehensive videos support parents and guardians through the program, offering valuable tips and strategies.

  • Sight Word Challenge:
Mastery of sight words is crucial to successful reading. Our program incorporates a Sight Word Challenge to help children master these essential words.

Importance of Parental Support:
Guidance from parents or guardians is essential for each child’s success in the Vowel Variations Program. By actively participating in their child’s learning journey, parents can provide valuable support, reinforce lessons, and foster a positive learning environment.

Benefits of Parental Guidance:

  • Enhanced Learning:
Parental involvement reinforces learning and improves retention of new concepts.

  • Motivation:
Encouragement and support from parents motivate children to stay engaged and committed.
  • Improved Progress: With parental guidance, children make steady progress, leading to improved reading skills and confidence.

The Vowel Variations Program not only expands your child’s horizons but also ensures that their reading skills are growing strong, setting them on the path to becoming confident and proficient readers.
One Vowel Sound per Lesson

Each lesson focuses on a single vowel sound only. Repetition of a single vowel sound carried throughout a session, helps the student consolidate the learning and reduces the load on the working memory.

Extra Processing Time

Short bursts of repeated sound patterns within a lesson, practised over consecutive days, make it easier for the learner to grasp information, and ultimately, process it to their long-term memory.

New Visual Codes introduced at a gradual pace

The visual code becomes the identifying mark that allows the learner to ‘activate’ the letters with ease and confidence. Transforming the very abstract nature of learning to read into a more trusted and concrete experience for the learner.

Familiar style and layout

Each lesson offers a similar pattern of learning and providing a familiar style and layout.
